Turn Off Windows XP Firewall

Depending on which version of Windows XP you are using, the steps might be different. If you are not sure which version of Windows XP you have. See this article.
I. Windows XP or Windows XP SP1
- From Desktop, Click on "Start" >> "Settings" >> "Control Panel".
- In Control Panel, double-click "Networking and Internet Connections", and then click "Network Connections".
- Right-click your network connection, and then click "Properties".
- On the "Advanced" tab, with the check box "Protect my computer and network...", click to clear (disable) or to check (enable).
- Then type in "OK" to apply the changes and exit
II. Windows XP SP2
- Click "Start" >> "Run" then type "firewall.cpl" then click "OK".
- On the "General" tab, click "Off (not recommended)", and then click "OK".
